Early 1900's American Pyrex automobile wet cell battery glass jar with integral handles. Large oblong form with moulded inset handles to either side. This early Edison Pyrex glass vessel is marked to the front with the following text “Pyrex… tm reg us pat off… made in usa” along with “50006”. An early highly desirable decorative piece that were apparently originally used with batteries on railroad signal systems and telegraph lines. Measuring 335mm tall by 210mm wide by 160mm deep. Weighing a substantial 5kgs. Some wear to the upper rim as noted.
