Early brutalist studio potted vase by British ceramicist Bernard Rooke. Cylindrical form with a rolled inner rim featuring Rooke’s typical incised abstract decoration. Glazed lower third featuring a “shagreen” type glaze with matte rich biscuit upper. Rooke’s embossed name to the outer body as noted. A strong example design wise. 180mm tall by 100mm in diameter. 1.29kgs. Excellent vintage order. Circa 1960’s. Bernard rooke was born in 1938.
