Antique & Collectable Auction

Hayward’s Auction House is holding an Antique & Collectable auction this Sunday and we have a great variety of items on offer. Serious Crown Lynn collectors will be excited by the Wharetana Ware brown glazed lamp base, and if you’re looking for something larger, we have a 1.7 meter high Jesus Christ sacred heart statue.

There is also a platen printing press, book presses, and a 1st edition of Charles Dickens’ “Our Mutual Friend.” You can also find a large assortment of the Official History of New Zealand in WWII books, and there is an excellent selection of early Dunedin & New Zealand postcards & photographs including Burton Brothers and Frank Coxhead.

We have some uncommon brass instruments, including a tenocor with leather case and extra parts, a fanfare/post horn and a post horn, and to keep time, there is a Georgian long-cased pendulum clock with a hand painted enamel face. Ceramics include an antique Chinese blue and white lidded vase.

There is an as-new Natuzzi Italian leather rolled-arm 3-seater settee, 2 burgundy deep-button leather chesterfields and a very retro orange upholstered 3-piece lounge suite. We also have a mid- century mirror backed dresser and wardrobe.

Some of the more unusual items are the large cased Lego display, model and the 2 vintage French wine cages, a 3-seater rimu divided church pew, flame mahogany secretary, and a carved hardwood seat in the shape of 2 hands. Other furniture items include scotch chests, china cabinets, sideboards, wardrobes, dining tables and chairs, bookcases, roll top desks, kauri table, armchairs.

Studio pottery, German pottery, Hanmer pottery, Japanese ikebana vases, many fine watercolours, paintings, lithographs and etchings, Tretchikoff and Lynch prints, Whites Aviation and other photographs. Fun Ho! And Dinky vehicles, tin toys, collectable model vehicles and aircraft. Numerous metal toy soldiers, coins and bank notes.

You can also find floor mats, Tiffany style and other lamps, fine china including a large quantity of Royal Worcester Evsham dinner ware items, Royal Doulton and Midwinter dinner sets plus Aynsley, Royal Albert, Clarice Cliff, Portmeirion, Crown Lynn and Spode.

Wall mirrors, chandeliers, sterling silver items, snake skins, bonze figures, kerosene lanterns, mantel radios, collectable Jim Beam decanters, vintage kitchenalia, coloured glass, jewellery, cutlery, crystal, original art and prints, lodge regalia and light boxes.
