It is an Antique & Collectable Auction this Sunday at Hayward’s Auction House and as always the auction rooms are filled with hundreds of unusual and interesting items.


On the back wall we have two very large, retro hand painted photographic prints, printed by the New Zealand tourism board, these images would be a striking addition to a restaurant or any public space. We also have a fantastic hand painted mural of Fiordland and Mitre Peak.

Another interesting item is the late 18th /early 19th century John Broadwood & Sons piano, while it may have a few problems with it’s legs, it is very good condition considering its age.

Furniture includes an arts and craft style oak wardrobe, a beautiful mottled kauri 2 door wardrobe, chest of drawers, bookcase chiffonier’s and some spectacular tables. Including a solid oregon table with bench sets and a very art deco dining table with matching signs.

The auction also includes many early sporting rugby programs and poster, from the 1930s, 40s,50s & 60s.There is an interesting selection of vintage tin signs.

For lovers of fine china we have Moorcroft vases, Poole Medieval Prayer plates, Royal Doulton, Royal Albert, Palissy, Clarice Cliff, Carltonware and many other items.

Retro enthusiasts will love our studio art glass, Crown Lynn vases, swans & kitchen ware. Also we have a mid-century wooden index file cabinet, sideboard, armchairs and a Queenstown floor mat.

Roll top desks, school cupboards, wardrobes, Scotch chests, red leather lounge suite, lounge suites, kauri kitchen table, bookcases, dining tables & chairs, a hall stand. Long cased clocks, mantel clocks.

Oriental vases, urns & needleworks, traditional Chinese dragon mask, light fittings, swords.

Books & publications including The Journal of the HMS Resolution 1772-1775 1st Edition, Barraud's New Zealand Graphic and Descriptive 1st Edition
