Hayward’s Auction House is pleased to announce that viewing is now open for our upcoming Antique and Collectable auction, to be held this Sunday the 13th of October stating at 10:00 AM.
This auction features some wonderful collectable china, pottery and glassware, with a whole menagerie of Blue Mountain animal figurines including some unusual shapes and a very large coin-shaped money box. There is a great range of stoneware crocks, and a nice assortment of German pottery, retro coffee sets, Aynsley Orchard Gold, Maling lustre ware, studio art glass, crystal, spelter and bronze figures and more.
You will find quality lounge and dining furniture including bergere lounge suites, a bow-front 8-drawer Victorian chest, pedestal and refectory dining tables, bookcases, display cabinets, bookcase-chiffoniers, a Victorian burr walnut pedestal bridge table, an unusual hardwood 4-door 8-drawer stepped chest and contemporary tan leather and black deep buttoned leather armchairs.
Other unique items include a vintage ‘Ideal’ kitchen cabinet, a bamboo, cane and seagrass 3-piece patio suite, an oriental upholstered wooden meditation chair and a curiosity table, a vintage mixed timbers pigeonhole unit, a retro adjustable shelf unit, hall stands, floor mats, table lamps, hanging light fittings, and an Enfield long-cased pendulum clock.
Collectors of vintage tools and wood-working equipment will want to have a look at the journeyman’s chest complete with with contents, and a good assortment of vintage wood-working planes and other tools. There are some vintage adjustable dressmaker’s forms, a folding brass and mahogany camera, a heavy brass ship's lantern, model ships including a heavy brass fishing boat in a custom made carry case.
Other small collectables of note include vintage Dunedin and other regional souvenir ceramic ware, pennants, badges, postcards, sporting ephemera & magazines, vintage University capping magazines, a beaten pewter tray with enamel decorations, and a Nibble Nook theatre snack-vendor’s tray. Musical instruments include a Lisner ¾ size cello, cased vintage Scandalli and Horch piano accordions and a mandolin.
Our display cabinets feature the usual range of rings, necklaces, brooches, bracelets, pocket watches, pen knives, ephemera, a matchbox cover and a vesta case, scent bottles, lighters, and a Limoges brooch. The walls are covered with original artworks, prints, photographs, advertising posters, needlework, hand-painted lodge honours boards, and a Whites Aviation hand-coloured photograph of Lake Matheson.
