This auction features a great selection of retro, vintage, and more modern collectables, fine china and ornaments, art glass and pottery, framed prints, paintings and wall mirrors, indoor and outdoor furniture, toys, books and more. You’ll find numerous bottles of Central Otago Pinot Noir and other red wine, and almost-as-numerous Doctor Who collectibles, including boxed figurines, cased NZ-minted 50th Anniversary coins and wall prints. If you are into fishing, have a look though the rack of vintage split-case and timber fishing rods, and look out for fishing reels in the display cabinets.
There’s a nice range of local history books, rugby, cricket and other sports memorabilia, books, and programs. There are savings bank money boxes, world globes, vintage wind-up toys, dolls, model vehicles, pond yachts, and 2 early home videogame consoles with cartridges and controllers. We even have some boxed Stereo Realist photo slides from the 60s, including film and TV production photos, Boris Karloff, and Alfred Hitchcock in action.
Furniture includes large 4-seater brown leather chesterfield settees, one with matching armchair, quality large display cabinets, mirror-back sideboards, leadlight china cabinets, dressing tables, a compact roll-top desk, mirrored wardrobes, and other solid timber bedroom furniture. We also have some very nice dining tables with upholstered chairs, coffee tables and occasional tables including a mod set of G-Plan Quadrille nesting tables. Look for them on the Scandinavian sunburst rug, right next to the retro orange and brown lounge suite.
You’ll also find wall barometers, mantel clocks, wood-framed photos, paintings and prints, including a series of British comedy greats, wall and floor-standing mirrors, furs, reproduction Tiffany and nouveau style lamps, writing boxes, collector card albums, and jewellery cabinets full of rings, watches, brooches, pendants and assorted small collectables including a sterling silver chatelaine purse, two framed postcards of 1920s Rotorua tourist guide Ruth, a sterling silver and bone teething rattle, 1936 royal coin set and many more fascinating items to check out, in person or online.
