Can I still attend a live webcast auction?

Yes you can attend a live webcast auction, you will still need to register when you arrive in the rooms and you can bid just like a normal auction by signaling the auctioneer when you want to place a bid.

 

Can I still leave an absentee, book or phone bid?

Yes, just like a General auction you can leave absentee, book bids or phone bids. The forms are all at the office all you need to do is register and tell us what your maximum bid is. You can also leave absentee bids online and our software will take care of it automatically. However, most buyers prefer to watch the auction and place bids online.

 

If I don’t want to download an app or give out my credit card details can I still bid online?

Hayward’s LIVE WEBCAST AUCTIONS do not require you to give credit card details and you don’t need to download an app. However, it is important to note that by placing a successful bid you are entering into a contract with the auction house to purchase the items.

 

Do I need to register to bid online?

Yes, you do need to register when bidding online. The easiest way to do this is to go to our website and click the login button and follow the instructions. If you click here it will take you to the login for our Antique & Collectable Auctions.

 

I already have a username and password but I can’t log in to place bids on this auction?

This is a really common problem and it is confusing. But because we use 2 software systems to run our auctions customers need 2 different usernames and passwords. Vintage, Antique & Collectable Auction and other specialty auctions have their own login as does General & Tools Auctions. Click on the following link to go to our login page. We understand that this is not ideal, please contact us if you have any problems.

It can be a good idea to have the same username and password for both accounts.

 

I live in Australia can I still bid at your auction?

If you live overseas you can bid at the auction. However, you must arrange for someone to pick the items up from the auction rooms. If you don’t know anyone in Dunedin, then the company Pack & Send can provide this service. Goods will not be released until paid in full.

 

Can you arrange delivery of my items?

For a fee we can pack and courier smaller items throughout New Zealand. We will let you know how much this will cost when we invoice you for your goods. We can deliver larger items in Dunedin and surrounding areas. However, if you would like large items delivered out of town you will need to arrange and pay for transport yourself. We have a number of firms that we can recommend if you are moving larger items.

 

How can I pay for my goods?

We accept cash, eftpos and cheques with prior approval from management. You can also pay online by direct bank deposit or credit card. Please note that credit card payments incur an additional 3% charge.

 

My computer stalled and I missed out on bidding on an item can I do anything about this?

No unfortunately you can not dispute an online bid as we can not be held accountable for people’s computers and internet connection. The best advice is don’t wait until the last second to place your bid, place it early so that you limit the chances of missing out.

 

I am a having problem viewing the auction from home is there anything I can do?

If any issues occur, bidders should first do a hard refresh of their computer by pressing and holding Control + Shift + R for Windows, or Command + Shift + R for Mac. This should fix most issues.

 

Bidders should ensure they are using a supported browser such as Google Chrome (recommended), Mozilla Firefox or Safari to access the online auction platform (note: Internet Explorer is not supported by Microsoft and therefore will not work).

 

Bidders also need to be running a current software version. iPhones should be running iOS version 11.0 or above, and Macs should be running macOS version 10.13 or above.

Windows computers should be running version 8.1 or above, and Android devices should be running version 8.0 or above.

 

If the problem persists and the bidder has not shut down or restarted their device recently, it may also help to restart their device.

 

If bidders are still experiencing any issues, they can also try clearing their device's cache:

 

Clear Google Chrome cache on computer by:

1. Click the three dots in the top right corner of the Google Chrome browser.

2. Click 'More Tools'.

3. Click 'Clear browsing data'.

4. Set the time range to 'All time'.

5. Tick the checkboxes beside 'Cookies and other site data' and 'Cached images and files'.

6. Click 'Clear data'.

 

Clear Google Chrome cache on phone by:

1. Click the three dots in the bottom right corner of the Google Chrome app.

2. Click 'History'.

3. Click 'Clear browsing data' and set the time range to 'All time'.

4. Click 'Clear browsing data'.

 

Clear Safari cache on iPhone by:

1. Go to the Settings app.

2. Scroll down and click 'Safari'.

3. Click the blue text that says 'Clear History and Website Data'
